I am writing to let you know that the City Plan is now on exhibition. The website has comprehensive information about the City Plan together with locations where documentation is available and one City location and week when planning staff are available for consultation.
You are welcome to attend the staffed exhibition at Lower Town Hall anytime during the week beginning 21 February. I will commit to being available as well from 2-4pm on Friday 25 February at Lower Town Hall.
If you have members or associates with some experience in planning, you might ask them to take a look for you. I'll be in touch again if I manage to secure a meeting time. regards Jan
"The new City Plan is a single set of planning controls that will guide future development throughout the City of Sydney Local Government Area.
The City Plan consists of a single Local Environmental Plan (LEP) and Development Control Plan (DCP) and supporting information. A Local Environmental Plan is the principal legal document for controlling development and guiding planning decisions made by Council. A Development Control Plan is a non-legal document which supports the LEP with more detailed planning and design guidelines. The supporting information includes a policy which establishes the procedure for undertaking a competitive design process and the draft Green Square Affordable Housing Program.
These draft documents are now on public exhibition. They are the result of several years of studies, reviews and consultation with the community. They have been prepared to meet new State Government guidelines for local planning documents and will simplify planning processes in the City of Sydney. Importantly, these documents will help plan sustainability for a growing population whilst protecting heritage and character of our villages."
