Most Prosperous Countries
Australia remains in the top 10 as one of the most prosperous countries in the world, according to the ten year study by the Legatum Institute through their Legatum Prosperity Index™. The study tracks the journey of 149 nations in order to explain how and why nations, with similar resources do better or worse than their peers and what drives and constrains the creation of a more prosperous society.
The institute's belief is that prosperity is simply the opportunity for every person to discover, fulfil, and share their potential and involves both wealth and wellbeing with no person in poverty or in social isolation. Variables are then split into nine sub-indexes: economic quality, business environment, governance, education, health, safety and security, personal freedom, social capital, and natural environment.
Here's their top 10 Prosperous Countries.
1. New Zealand
Note: The two biggest drivers of global prosperity growth over the last ten years have been the world’s most populous nations, China and India, where many millions have been moved from poverty onto the road to prosperity
