Chinatown Historical Tours to celebrate August Moon
To add another dimension to the annual celebrations of August Moon, the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce is planning a series of tours focusing on historical Chinatown. The tour is suited to young and old, locals and tourists. It includes a background of the early development of Chinatown, visits to some of the unique Chinese shops and historical buildings.
Three tours are being planned for Friday 25th September, Sunday 27th September and Wednesday 30th September. Tour participants are to meet at the corner of Quay Street and Ultimo Road (UTS Bell Tower). Each tour commences at 11.30am and will take approximately one and a half hours.
August Moon Festival is a popular celebration on the Chinese calendar and the tours are expected to prove popular. Haymarket Chamber of Commerce president, Brad Chan, is advising people wishing to take part to book early to avoid disappointment.
Cost of the tour is a gold coin donation and bookings should be made by September 16th by phoning Percy Wing Kee on 0403 302 578 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Tour participants have the option of joining their tour colleagues for a Yum Cha lunch at $20 per head at the end of the tour.
